What is the best supplement and shampoos/treatments for women's hair growth?

So i recently did a hair show thing where they totally butchered off my hair super short. what can i do to boost hair growth? shampoos? conditioners? treatments? and people have suggested MANY different supplements/vitamins and i don't know which one is the BEST and WORKS the BEST!What is the best supplement and shampoos/treatments for women's hair growth?
lorealWhat is the best supplement and shampoos/treatments for women's hair growth?
Good diet and grooming habits. Don't wash and blow dry your hair every day!
From a physiological standpoint, hair growth comes from within the skin, so trimming it or using shampoos won't really make the hair follicle itself grow faster. Hair is basically protein, so I think any supplement that focuses on that should be good. I'll tell ya this, though: when I went on a high-protein diet and really focused on eating well, my hair and nails grew super fast!
Prenatal vitamins work pretty well cause of the high folic acid. And there's a shampoo called Mane %26amp; Tail, I think you can get it at a place like Sally's... It was originally for horses but sold for humans now. Also, a healthy diet and lots of water never hurt.
before you take a bath., apply the juice of aloe vera..it helps alot!
Here's the painful truth: Nothing will make your hair grow faster. There are many rumors out there but I have been a stylist for a very long time and I can speak from experience that nothing works. Your hair will grow about 1/2 inch a month so just be patient! Good luck.
I heard about this shampoo thats actually for horses but can make your hair grow really fast, look it up online.

It's called Mane and Tail Shampoo and it does make your hair grow longer, but you might want to Try Doo Gro Products
I have very long hair. Two things make it strong and grow fast, prenatal vitamins and horsetail or shavegrass herbs. They are the same thing, some stores call it horse tail and some call it shavegrass. You can get it at GNC or any herbal store.
From a hairdressers point of view!! WOW! Tail and mane shampoo? yeah this might work...kinda...but it leaves a coating of plastic on your hair and is terrible!!! I've seen too many times what it can do...after 2 weeks of using this stuff I'll be able to slide my scissors down your hair and scrape plastic off it!

I'd suggest using a product called Nioxxin...it not only helps your hair grow quicker it will also make it thicker. You can buy it at almost any salon...even the hair salons inside of walmart.

good luck

What is the best treatment for dog ticks on the dogs ( powder or shampoos) and in the house?

For the love of God do not ';dip'; you dog with anything as it is unnecessary to use such caustic chemicals.

Two days prior or after application of Frontline or Advantix you dog needs to remain completely dry so no bathing.

Spot on applications are the safest and most effective prevention against infectious diseases transmitted by a ticks.

Shampoos and powders are ineffective and dangerous which can lead to adverse reactions ranging from

seizures

tremors

nystagmus (irregular eye movements)

hyper salivation

even death

Even with the use of Advantix and Frontine daily tick checks ae necessary.

With Frontline ticks will attach to dog but will be killed before the time it takes to transmit infectious diseases.

Ticks who bite a dog with frontline jaws become paralysed and the toxic chemical is ingested.

So do not be shocked to find ticks on your dog when using frontline.

Reseach backs up the fact that frontline will kill the tick prior to transmission of tick borne infectious diseases.

Advantix is different as it repels ticks and mosquitos.

That is atleast what the poduct claims

Advantix is not as reliable as frontline in the 4 weeks of coverage,

Also Advantix can not be used in a multipet household with cats.

Advantix is toxic to cats.

Keep you lawn clipped and D. Earth aound you property. What is the best treatment for dog ticks on the dogs ( powder or shampoos) and in the house?
If your dog is infested then a full submersion dip is best. They have a dip tank at the vets. Otherwise a bath is best with flea and tick shampoo. You need to follow the directions to the letter. It will call for a full body massage with the soap and then leave it on for a period of time. the problem is the head cannot be fully massaged without torturing the poor animal, so do the head last of course. In the house you need the carpet powder and it is dangerous to if the dog licks everything then make sure he does not lick the poison. The best thing is prevention. THe monthly Frontline or Bio spot etc will kill them as well and repel them as well. good luck..What is the best treatment for dog ticks on the dogs ( powder or shampoos) and in the house?
use dawn dish washing soap.

Orange hair! my natural blonde hair continues to be orange even with shampooing weekly with ion hair treatment

I also use a shampoo for hard water and iron deposits but still the results are orange hair. I have never colored or permed my hair. what do I need to do to correct this?Orange hair! my natural blonde hair continues to be orange even with shampooing weekly with ion hair treatment
go to a salon or sally beauty supply and ask for a blue based shampoo or conditioner. Orange and blue are opposite each other on the color wheel and the blue will neutralize the orange in your hair.Orange hair! my natural blonde hair continues to be orange even with shampooing weekly with ion hair treatment
well your natural blonde hair isnt blonde anymore !! the colour has changed.. ! xXx Report Abuse

orange hair is beleived to be the result of eating too much carrots. maybe u need to cut down on them
well over time some peoples hair change, ex. when your 5 your hair can be bleach blond, and then by age 20 it can be red. i guess the only thing you can do is die it back to blond.

What are the best dandruff solutions? (shampoo, conditioner, treatments, etc)?

Without a doubt selsun blue. What are the best dandruff solutions? (shampoo, conditioner, treatments, etc)?
i used nizoral (you're supposed to apply it with a

toothbrush).

most hair care lines have a dandruff shampoo, conditioner,

etc but you should look for one with zinc pyrithione since it's

anti fungal and anti bacterial.

here's more.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dandruff#Tr鈥?/a>What are the best dandruff solutions? (shampoo, conditioner, treatments, etc)?
The best thing to remove the dandruff is to wash the hair daily when you take bath and shampoo it twice a week. I had lots of them and when it I started taking head bath daily it went away. But I also lost half my hair before that.
I had a dandruff problem and I heard somewhere that if you put hot olive oil on your scalp it gets rid of dandruff and makes your hair softer it worked! So I would recomend that and using head and shoulders shampoo. :)
use an anti-dandruff shampoo (obviously) but, dont wash ur hair every day. wash it every other day.
hear and shoulders or neutrogena t/gel shampoo
head and shoulders definetly.
Head %26amp; Shoulders worked for me, too

Is this m.canis or m.gypsium? What did the skin scrapings show at the vet? If this truely is ringworm, the pup might need to be on some oral meds as well, go back to the vet!My dob,pup has ringworm. He's on shampoo treatments and it seems to be slowly spreading.Any suggestions??
    Blue Star Ointment
it may be time for another opnion. Its possible its not ringworm and you are using the wrong treatment. It could be another fungal infection, mites/mange, an allergy.. etc.

Incase it is something contagious, I hope you are washing hands well after handling your dog, and also washing bedding and such well. Ringworm is VERY contagious.
The vet had me use Lotrimin to get rid of one on my dog. It worked and was cheap.
here is a great site for good information

    http://www.marvistavet.com/html/body_rin鈥?/a>

also, ask your vet about a long culture ( i think 7 to 10 days?) and ask about using the drug Lufenuron.

    Good Luck!
first you should clean everything the dog is around. The ringworm fungus could be on his things causing it to spread. Try cleaning everything he is around a lot. Keep using the shampoo and eventually it will go away. Be careful because it can be passed to humans and other pets too. Close the dog off in a section of your house till he gets better.
Are these treatments from a vet? If so, ring them and tell them they're not working - they won't be able to help you further if they don't know what's going on!

If these treatments are something you bought yourself from a store then don't expect for a minute that they'll actually work. You need proper treatment from a vets.

    Chalice
Your dog needs to be on an oral medication. Ringworm is not only notoriously difficult to get rid of, but is highly contagious to other animals and humans as well. I hope you are taking the proper precautions when you touch your dog. This animal really needs to see a vet.

Edit: William is absolutely correct. Lotrimin is about $10 for a bottle. Small investment, great results.

Best shampoo, leave in conditioner & conditioning treatment for chemically straightened hair?

Hi, I have straightened hair chemically last year. It was fine for some time. Now its gone fizzy and untamed again. I would recommend enjoy hair care products. You can get enjoy hair care products at beauty schools and some beauty supply stores and i am sure you can get them off line somewhere. they are a bit expensive, but worth it and they last a while.

Enjoy hair mask, and reconstructive spray are awesome. they come in light purple bottles. Enjoys leave in conditioner is awesome, you don't need to use very much, that also comes in a light purple bottle.

shampoo wise is where my recommendation gets a bit dicey because it is great quality shampoo and easy on your hair because it doesnt have any acids in it. on the down side, because it doesn't have any acids in it, it did start to give me dandruff because it didnt have anything to get rid of the dead skin on your scalp.

so i use all of the first products and just herbal essence shampoo.

What is a good alternative head lice treatment to use instead of the drug store shampoos?

My sister is about to shave her son's head for the second time because she won't use drug store lice shampoos. He is so upset. Does anyone know of something that works so he won't have to go through this again? What is a good alternative head lice treatment to use instead of the drug store shampoos?
Sadly my sister has had lice...don't tell alot of people though. It came from bad expierence in elementry school, but she only had it for a week before we fully rided it.

    THIS IS HOW!

    1. Get listerine

    2. Get a shower cap.

    3. Put the listerine in the hair for an hour.

    4. Once the hour is up rinse the listerine out

    5. Take a fine-tooth comb and some lice egg remover and brush the remainder eggs out.

THIS IS DEFINATELY THE BEST WAY TO RID OF THEM!

I hope this helps! What is a good alternative head lice treatment to use instead of the drug store shampoos?
    www.headlicetrix.com Report Abuse

Google Nuvolice. We had repeated issues with lice and this finally helped to stop the cycle without chemical issues. You have to be very diligent and follow it to the letter. Good luck.
lots and lots of tea tree oil but its best to put it in a spray water bottle for your hair so that you don't use a concentrated solution. It may stink but damn it works!
This a remedy for getting rid of and keeping them gone. You can use pennyroyale oil, can be bought at a local health food store. Put the oil (about 1 tsp to 8 oz) in apple shampoo and use daily. The nits still needs to be picked out.
Pyrethrins are the active ingredient in most lice treatment shampoos. Dog flea and tick shampoo contains a higher concentration of this ingredient and is far cheaper to use. Use it once a week to keep from being re-infested. Remember to wash all bedding. Heat from the dryer will kill them on pillows, stuffed animals etc. Raid makes a fogger for fleas ticks and lice that can be used in the house for carpets and furniture. I even used a fogger in my car because I was afraid they may be in the seats.
BABY OIL!! and wear a hair cover thingy. it suffocates them
    Tea Tree Oil
    Mayonaise!!!
We used over the counter, but due to my daughters thick long hair, it was not working. My doctor told me to go buy mayo, cover the whole head, wrap it in a towel and leave on for an hour. Then washing is the hottest water temp you can stand. IT WORKED.

You still will need to wash everything in the house in very hot water and that you can not wash, you need to buy sprays for and personally I vacuumed every day for a week.

    Best wishes
rub your hair especially the scalp with gasoline than wash it. also you can use viniger and olive oil.
Use the drug store shampoos. They are non-harmful, and better than the whole family having lice.

Shaving his head won't even get rid of the problem either! Shave his head and then use the shampoo. And keep the damned dogs out of his bed at night.

There are no products that will make new hair grow. These products are basically supposed to help to stop/slow the hair loss and make your hair seem thicker.
No, they麓re just gimmiks and wont give u any results. What u should do is buy some type of vitamins for hair loss that are sold over the counter, in like Walgreens ask the pharmacists to recommend u some hair loss vitamins, which will make ur hair grow and will male thicker.
Yes, they do a great job of quickening the pace of your hair loss and emptying your wallet. Go chrome dome, dude. If you are sexy hair ain't gonna make a difference. Skid 'em, stud.
    Dude, give it up.

mix 2 eggs and 1/4 a cup of vegatable oil in a cup. Pour over dry, clean hair and wrap it up in a towl. Sleep with it, and it the morning shampoo and condition as usual. Good luck! (:
    try this:

get it in all the bottles(shampoo, conditioner, gel, ect). it's for intense damnage.
ask your hair dresser for a good deep moisturizing conditioner. it should help. and you should get a trim regularly so that way you can get your dead ends cut off and keep it growing healthy
Your hair is dead, so it can't be repaired. But luckily it grows constantly. Cut of the nasty parts, and wait for your new, nice hair to grow in. And stop damaging it with hair dye.
use shampoo with keratin and refrain from using any chemicals to your hair for now.. I recommend loreal shampoo and conditioner.. avoid the sun if possible...
stop dying it let it grow out

or go to the salon and ask for the oil hair wash

it will make your hair all silky and soft
vitamin e and even keratin i think.

buy a deep conditioner for your hair, it works really food on damaged and dry hair :]My hair is really damagaed, mostly from dying it. what kind of treatment can i use? a good shampoo or somethin?
Get a tub of henna wax, sold at most afro carribean hair care stores etc. Shampoo your hair twice as normal and section your hair into 4 and apply it all the way through you hair, massage into the scalp and onto the ends and leave for 10minutes. The massage is really important because it stimulates the scalp and hair leaving it healthier. After 10minutes rinse off and dry hair. Also use a good heat defense while blowdrying and straightening hair or using any heated equipment, its probably worth investing in some good stuff because you only need to be using a small amount and it lasts you for months. If you cant find a henna wax,use a good conditioner and leave it in for 10mins and comb it through. Do this every 1/2 weeks and you should see a healthier, shiny looking hair.

    Hope this works
I know this isn't what you want to hear, but the only way to get rid of damage is to cut it off. You are not doing your hair or your wallet any favors by throwing money away on so called ';miracle products'; that don't do anything. I went through what you're going through. I had severely damaged hair because I dyed it too many times with permanent dyes. I regretted it later and tried everything I could... the most expensive ';professiona'; shampoos, conditioners, treatments, etc... nothing worked at all. I spent at least $300 on products within a few months only to be disappointed and eventually cut off all the damage.

Best thing you can do is cut it all before it spreads further up the hair shaft. Find a shampoo that agrees with your hair (it does NOT have to be expensive), and get a detangler. Conditioners are a marketing scam companies use to make you buy their stuff. You don't need that junk, just a sprat detangler. Always protect your hair from heat when drying and/or styling.
Pantene Pro-V restoratives is GREAT. You'll need the shampoo, conditioner, and hair mask. It'll cost around $12 for everything. The one in the Green bottle is the best. It replaces everthing you kill off when you straighten/blow dry your hair everyday and its great for colored hair. The hair mask can stay on as long at you want but you should notice a difference after the first time you use it.
Aveda hair stuff is really really goood... they are kinda pricey though..

They've come out with new shampoos just for damaged/dry hair and they work Great =] just remember that they are a little pricey, so i would suggest the smaller bottles
Try deep conditioning and using a hot oil treatment. That can work miracles! Also the only way to get your hair back to normal is to stay away from the dye and regularly trim your hair.
i have the same problem n nothing seems to work i think a hot Oil would do wonders though cause i had one done before i started dying n it was lovely... also......... eggs.. yes.. i said eggs.. they are alright o..mayonnaisee lol
Use Pantene Pro-v or Dove extreme therapy. And u may have to get it cut. See a stylist.
    What color is your hair?
time for a hair cut!!! that's the only solution sorry.

The absolute best is the new brand called Organix. It has organic active ingredients and is sulfate-free so it wont dry out your hair, plus...it smells awesome! Organix has different collections for different hair types which are all amazing. You can get Organix at Target, Albertsons, Bed Bath %26amp; Beyond, Kroger, Duane Reade, Safeway, etc. Its the best! Same problem and tried and tested all to huge expense but best I have found it frizz ease by john Frieda collection the conditioner is fantastic leaves your hair soft and shiney cost around 拢5. There is a huge range from surums, conditioners, deep heat conditioners, shampoo's good luck I use them all the time.
Kiehls make some excellent products for dry hair. Their olive fruit and lemon range is particularly good. They are a bit expensive but a good investment. However if you go to a Kiehls stockist (Harvey Nichols, Space NK for example) you can often get some good sized samples which give you a chance to check them out before buying.
try the aveda damage remedy range its lovely!makes my seriously over processed, dry hair beautifully soft and shiny!x
use dove therapy products i use them and it totally works even though its kinda alot of money but it worth it (it like $6 a bottle) well at least it alot for shampoo and conditioner
ok I use Tresemme moisture rich for dry/damage hair and then there sunsilk pink gor dery.damage hair and then i want to get redkens smooth down shmapoo and all soft conditioner

kerastase bain 3is very good and the masks are great too.

redken all soft are supposed to be very good also but ive never tried them
Hi I have used loads of these and some work better than others.

First of all I would start with a good shampoo and conditoner, Pantene Ice Shine in both is the best, and gets hair into shape fast, its for dry tired and damage hair and works a treat the more you use it the better conditon your hair will become.

Now back onto treatments and weekly conditioners.

The best one I have tried is Tresemme deep nourishing hair mask for extra dry damaged weak and brittle hair, its in a large pot and helps protect from all elements and and even heat damage, you leave it on for 5mins. Its ok but I wouldnt recommend it if you have a senisive scalp like I have as it irritates it a bit, but you dont nesscary have to use it on the scalp as it then ends that are the main problem and the lengths of the hair.

Aussie 3min Miracle isnt that good, I find that the Aussie Miracle moist you get to complement the shampoo is ten times better.

There is also Frizz Ease Miracoulous Recovery Hair Mask, this is good, for split ends doesnt do much for the lengths though and cost loads for just a little pot that doesnt last more than 2 washes, thats if you hair is thick like mine.

So all in all Tremme is the best for around 拢4 and it last ages as the tub is massive.

You can try hot oils, but I think all these do it make my hair far to fluffy and it doesnt even feel soft after the treatement.

I would also recommend using a leave in conditioner and a heat protection spray and a hair serum, the best leave in condtioner is from Boots its a coconut and Alomond one 拢1.49, any heat protection spray off your chioce, at the moment Im using, pantene ice shine heat protecting spray but any of you choice really, except tresemme this time its not that good, Avons heat protection spray is good but if its not on offer its expesive and is in a little bottle so it doesnt last long. and for hair serum I use the same Avon Dry ends serum its 拢4.50 but there is a better one for only 拢1.99 in savers or bodycare, called supersoft by swartzscoff, its brilliant, but ruub it into you hands first before applying to your hair and use a little bit at a time with any hair serum you get as if you just plonk it on it looks greasy and you dont want that,

After you have applied all the above run over your hair with the hair straightners and then you should have lovely shiny smooth locks.

Tinea Versicolor (Malassezia furfur) - Effective Treatment with Nizoral Shampoo?

Does anyone here have a positive experience using Nizoral Shampoo to treat their tinea versicolor? Could you kindly share your experiences? I need all the encouragement I can get. Thanks!

    Background:

I'm currently having tinea versicolor spots all over my back, stomach, arms and etc. They aren't red or itchy, just looks rather unsightly. A bit ashamed getting undressed and such. Just started lathering a droplet of Nizoral shampoo and lathering all over after a full body scrub, leaving it on for 10 minutes before rinsing and buffing down with a towel. Currently using Nizoral also to treat my dandruff problem.

    Related question with Nizoral Shampoo:

    a) Is it possible to leave it on without rinsing?

    b) How long should I continue this for?

    c) And how do I prevent recurrences.

God Bless You.,What is the best shampoo or natural treatment for my dogs skin problem ?
Diet, diet, diet... Her skin problems are most likely caused by her diet. Try adding a supplement like ';Dinovite'; to her food, its worked wonders with my three dogs.

    http://www.dinovite.com/

Another good natural skin soother is oregano oil. What is the best shampoo or natural treatment for my dogs skin problem ?
Well, it's either fleas or a skin rash. A vet can give you some very expensive shampoo for either one, but you don't want to spend too much money. Pet stores have shampoos for fleas and rash. Flea repellant, which is a tube of medicine, goes on once a month and keeps ticks and fleas away. If it is fleas, wash your dog as a bottle of flea shampoo says. If it is a rash, vet is reccomended, and rash shampoo is sometimes available at a pet store, but vets can give you specific shampoos, and you don't want to risk it getting infected. Sorry about your dog, but I hope this helps!
Treatment of skin disease may include the use of antibiotics, antihistamines, steroids, topical drugs, antifungal drugs, medicated shampoos and rinses, dietary supplements, special diets and surgical removal of masses. Some therapies may take months to be effective and in some cases, it may be necessary to continue the therapy for the rest of your dog's life.

    change her diet.

please tell you father to STOP putting lemon %26amp; salt on her - Jesus - what's wrong with people?! That fricking HURTS!
Try Mane %26amp; Tail Shampoo %26amp; Conditioner. What I use %26amp; it is wonderful!
Go to the vet! they give you a bunch of shampoo's and antibiotics. It's pricey but it really works!
go to a natural/healthy pet food store and pick up some oatmeal shampoo

oatmeal is wonderful for skin problems. your dog doesnt look too bad judging from the pictures, so just try the shampoo every 4 days to 1 week (unless it otherwise directs) and see if it helps her any

untill it starts working, try spraying some bitter apple spray on the areas she bites most (unless the skin is open/has very recently healed over) to help prevent further damage to her skin

    I hope this helps :3

EDIT: I almost forgot! her diet may be contributing to her itchy skin. cheaper petfoods like pedigree use a lot of corn and, basically, sawdust. maybe try a new brand of kibble/whathaveyou when/if you go to a healthy pet food store, it also helps my dogs skin and coat very much

Is there a shampoo or some kind of hair treatment that repels the chlorine water when you go in the pool?

    YES!!!!!!! THERE IS!!!!!!!

Most people dont understand why this matters ... but I do. (see below)

It is called ULTRA SWIM and they make shampoo and conditioner. They have it at some stores in the summer - but i usually have to ask a local store to carry it. This year i found it on the internet. just search for ultra swim shampoo. there are stores online that sell it. IT IS AWESOME!!! DON't HESITATE TO BUY IT !!!!!!!

p.s. - wetting your hair before you swim really doesnt work - thats a myth. but you prolly knew that already!

i hope this helps!!! happy swimming!!!!! :)

i checked - try www.drugstore.comIs there a shampoo or some kind of hair treatment that repels the chlorine water when you go in the pool?
Nexus has an after treatment but I dont know of anything that repels chlorine. Is there a shampoo or some kind of hair treatment that repels the chlorine water when you go in the pool?
i don`t think so, but there is a shampoo that can clean the chlorine off really good so it doesn`t damage your hair.
Take a good conditioner and coat your hair in it. This will help with not soaking in as much chlorine.

    http://forums.longhaircommunity.com/show鈥?/a>

^^^ This is an article and discussion about how to protect your hair when swimming.
Unfortunately, there are no shampoos that actually ';repel'; the chlorine. However, AVEDA has an excellent shampoo that brings the hair back to the normal ph balance after the consumption of chlorine to the hair. You should also use it before to add extra protection to the hair. It is called DETOX. You may purchase at your local AVEDA retail store, or a local salon retailing the AVEDA line of products.
No there is no shampoo thar repels chlorine. If your hair is damaged or dry, your hair will absorb the chlorine quicker than healthy hair. I would recommend using shampooing your hair with a clarifying shampoo after you get out of the pool. Also, put a leave in conditioner before getting into the pool, that should help protect the hair from the chlorine.
Cold Water is always good for your hair when chlorine is in it. even after that just rinse it for a couple of mins than just put Conditioner in it too lather it up. when your ready to wash your hair again than shampoo and conditioner.
If you pre-condition and leave hair wet before pool activity your hair can only absorb so much water. Thus, it will naturally keep it out. Although if your hair becomes dry from being out of the pool then you need to resoak with water before reentry. After pool activity use a clarifying shampoo with a little baking soda to make a paste then shampoo. Do not use baking soda all the time- it is a chemical!!! Rock on- wear sunscreen.
There are a lot of different kinds of shampoos specifically for this that you can buy at Wal-Mart, Target, and Sally Beauty Supply. However, the best way to make sure that your hair does not soak up the chlorinated water is to wet your hair before you get in the pool. By doing this your hair will have soaked up the clean water, and once you're in the pool it won't be able to absorb any more. For even more defense against chlorinated water, apply a thin coat of leave-in conditioner before you get in too.

Is it okay to shampoo then do a hot oil treatment on hair?

yes, and when i look at your avater i guess your african american, it really helps the hair. especially african american, but other hairs also.

I was wondering if I shampoo, condition and then use the masque in that order? (I'm also thinking about using some Redken stuff.. lol suggestions for hair treatments would be nice!)Shampoo, Condition and then Hair Treatment?
either ojon restorative treatment or KPAK by Joico... with that one you use shampoo then deep penetrating reconstructor and then the intense hydrator! Shampoo, Condition and then Hair Treatment?
you don't need to condition because the masque will do that for you. if you want to get a deep conditioning treatment, put the masque in your hair before you shower and let set for 15 min. rinse it out and then shampoo and condition like normal, doing this will make hair softer and add more moister.

  • How do you treat very stubborn dandruff?? is that any other good treatment better than Nizoral shampoo?

Although dandruff appears to be just an itchy, flaky scalp condition, to properly treat it, you need to treat the whole body. Dandruff is a fungal condition (much like tinea, jock itch and thrush) and that's why anti-fungal products such as selsun, nizoral and head%26amp;shoulders were created. But they only treat the surface.

What you need to do is check that first, your scalp isn't staying moist all day under a cap or a hat or even a thick ponytail. Then check that you are eating very little sugar, alcohol and processed foods (sugar feeds the organism that causes dandruff).

Make sure your diet is based on fresh vegetables, legumes, whole grains and other high-fibre foods (and if you're a meat eater, lean meats) and as much fresh garlic and lemon juice as you can handle.

Ensure you are drinking your 8 glasses of fresh water daily and that tea and coffee are down to 2 daily (of either, not each).

If you can get hold of pau d'arco (aka taheebo) herb, infuse a good pinch per cup of water, boil it up for 10 minutes then strain and drink. You can drink it cold during the day as your water intake. Aim for 4 cups daily. Excellent anti-fungal and tonic properties.

Take at least 25mg zinc tablet daily after food.

Do this religiously for 2 weeks and you will probably notice dandruff-no-more. Do it for a month and you properly start to clear your body of the excess organisms for good.

It might require some work but instead of just not having dandruff anymore, you'll probably notice other niggles have disappeared too.How do you treat very stubborn dandruff?? is that any other good treatment better than Nizoral shampoo?
I hear that Listerene is good .Also rub 3 or 4 Tbs.cider vinigar into you scalp before you shampoo then rinse with 2cups cider vinigar in 2 cups cold waterHow do you treat very stubborn dandruff?? is that any other good treatment better than Nizoral shampoo?
I have moderate dandruff, I did a google search a while back and one of the suggestions was to crush two asprin tablets and mix in with your regular shampoo, and wash as regular
Dandruff is one of the major disorders of the scalp.Poor hygiene, improper diet ,sluggish condition of the scalp caused by poor blood circulation are the main causes of dandruff. A herbal rinse is a safe method of removing dandruff. Apply lemon juice with the rind on the scalp .After 5 minutes wash off with shampoo and water. Frontline treatment & baby shampoo??

I was told to wash my dog with a mild shampoo (ex: baby shampoo) when using frontline treatments for fleas because regular dog shampoo will mess up the treatment. What do you think and how do you handle washing after treatment, since it is suppose to last awhile?Frontline treatment %26amp; baby shampoo??
Just wait 2 days after the treatment. Don't use baby shampoo. Get a good all natural shampoo made for dogs.Frontline treatment %26amp; baby shampoo??
i have heard that but i only wash my dog before i put the dogs drops on (my vet recommended that) so i just do not take the chance
You have to use a soap free shampoo. Dont use baby shampoo on a dog. Yes regular shampoo will mess up the flea treatment. You can get soap free shampoo at most vets offices
You can wash them with anything you want to use as long as you wait two days after the bath to apply frontline.

What is a good shampoo or hair treatment that reduces hair loss. I have tried so many things but nothing works

Don't worry about hair loss, just tell everyone it was worn off by the head board of the bed.

God only created so many ';perfect'; heads, the rest he covered with hair. What is a good shampoo or hair treatment that reduces hair loss. I have tried so many things but nothing works
    Hi there,

I have yet to hear of a shampoo that's proven to prevent you from losing your hair. However, there's always Rogaine (or Minoxidil) that can be applied daily to prevent future hair loss and in some cases regrow lost hair.

I tried Rogaine years ago and didn't like it very much, mostly because I couldn't get dedicated to applying it everyday and made my head itch and peel like the Dickens. After years of suffering from male Pattern baldness I decided to go with a Bosley hair restoration procedure. Since receiving the hair transplant back in July I've blogged my results on BattleAgainstBald.com. In addition to real hair restoration results the blog provides a wealth of information on hair loss and the methods for correcting it.

    Best of Luck,

    Egg Shampoo recipe

    2 cups water

    2 bars castile soap, grated

    1 ounce tincture of benzoin

    3 egg yolks

    2 ounces glycerin

    3 drops perfume
Try Nioxin...it is a great line.
Nioxin products are great, but if you've tried them and they didn't work for you, I'd suggest having an electrotherapy session at your nearest day spa. The High Frequency machine normally used in deep-treatment facials may help your scalp. Have your technician turn the frequency up to where it is uncomfortable but not so high as you absolutely can't stand it. The technician then ';bounces'; the argon-filled glass electrode over your scalp in a uniform pattern to clear any bacteria from just under the skin's surface. This may facilitate easier growth from your existing hair. My brother absolutely swears by this! Make sure you don't wear ANY metal jewelry and have no metal implants in your body (fillings in your teeth are okay, but will make an unpleasant taste in your mouth). Good luck!
Look for a shampoo that contains oil or nettle. Or you can try nettle tea .....not drinking it....just wet your hair with it an d wait 20 min and then wash it off.
Take 2 tbls. apple cider vinegar in a glass of water 2-3 x day. Heinz vinegar has 93 vitamins and minerals so hair will grow long, strong and thick.
I heard using horse shampoo helps grow hair or it either helps hair grow faster.
WOmen's Rogaine and special hair growth, breakage protection, and hair health shampoo, conditioner and treatment available in the black haircare section of a drug store. they really work, i use them!
no shampoo or hair product can actually reduce hair loss. try increasing your protein and iron intake. protein encourages hair folicles to grow. chicken, potatoes, beans, etc.
hey u needs to c ... urs doctor...hair loss is lake of iron...try taking iron tablets..........FERROUS SULPHATE 200MG TABLETS.....this is very good and i have tried so it did work for me.....but i will advise u check WIth urs doctor before u taking this tablets...................
look i'think u'should eat well then u'll see how does u're hair gonna be? me myself did that u'll see also great skin just look back to u're food and see what do u need to but u' dont eat try to drink milk more u're nails and hair will be great if u' used to drink it just take care of u're food .. hope helped

Satinique庐 scientifically formulated hair care that delivers the results you expect. Reverse hair damage, restore balance. Scientifically formulated to repair, strengthen, and protect hair in just one use. Effective, yet gentle hair care products for every day.
I lost so much weight after having my gastric by pass, after 9 months of weight loss I began to loose my hair by the handfuls! I have tried Nixon did not work. I tried Rogaine did not work. But I went to see my surgeon who did my gastric by pass and he put me on a vitiam very cheap at any local drug store it is called ';Zinc Sulfate'; 250mg. At first you take 1 capsule 3 times a day for the first 2 months then 1 capsule 2 times a day for a month then 1 capsule every day. You will find it will grow back and you will stop loosing your hair. The question I have to ask is ';You getting enough protein in your daily diet?'; But as you know that Zinc helps the ammune system but you have to get the SULFATE for a faster and better absorbtion in your body for your hair. I had real thick hair and lost it to the point where you could totally see my scalp in between the hair. Took 4 months but it started coming back and I have all my hair back it is not course like it use to be. It is nice thick fine hair and I love it! Oh yeah the cost I go to Shopko and get them from the pharmist 100 capsules for $3.65 a bottle. Good luck and let me know how it goes!

    Best treatment,oil,shampoo for thinning hair?

what is the best treatment, oil, shampoo for thinning hair ?,anyone had +ve result with laser comb?Best treatment, oil, shampoo for thinning hair?
If you think your hair is thinning, although you do not have any real baldness, it is important to check that this is actually the case. Try the tug test, and remember that it is normal to lose 50鈥?00 hairs a day. Sometimes, thinning of the hair can be entirely in the mind, as a symptom of depression.

Thinning of hair all over the scalp (rather than patchy baldness) can be due to various causes. In the case of mental or physical stress, it often occurs 2鈥? months after the event. This is because at the time of the stress many follicles enter telogen (the resting phase) prematurely, and are then shed together at the end of telogen a few months later. In this situation, the hair loss usually recovers completely.

If you believe your hair is thinning, do not assume it is due to stress. See your family doctor, who will be able to rule out the common causes (such as thyroid deficiency and iron deficiency). Many drugs 鈥?not just those listed below 鈥?can cause hair loss, and the doctor will be able to check if this is a possibility. There may be several months鈥?delay between starting the medication and the hair loss being noticeable.

Some skin disorders, such as eczema or psoriasis of the scalp, can cause thinning of the hair. Usually the hair grows again once the skin problem is treated.

Some drugs that may cause hair thinning

    Anticancer drugs

ACE inhibitors for blood pressure or heart failure (captopril, enalapril, lisinopril)

Calcium antagonists for blood pressure (amlodipine)

    Blood-thinning drugs (warfarin)

    Drugs for gout (allopurinol)

    Antimalarials (chloroquine)

Drugs for epilepsy (valproate sodium, vigabatrin)

Drugs for Parkinson鈥檚 disease (for example, pramipexole, bromocriptine)

    Anti-thyroid drugs (carbimazole, propylthiouracil)

    Lipid-lowering drugs (clofibrate, bezafibrate)

    Anti-acne drugs (isotretinoin)

    Mood-stabilizing drugs (lithium, valproic acid)

Often no cause can be found. In some of these cases the hair will recover in time, but in others it remains thin.

It is important to keep thinning hair as healthy as possible (see looking after your hair for general recommendations). If there is no curable cause and the thinning is distressing, it may be worth trying Regaine. Bear in mind that Regaine will take several months to show any effect, and works in only a proportion of cases.

If spot-on flea treatment has quit after about a week, is flea shampoo OK to use?

We tried Advantix with absolutely no luck at all. Following the vet's advice, we bathed our puppy and applied Advantage once she was dry, and to my amazement she was damn near flea free for a few days. Then tonight she wakes me up, obviously misserable, and sure enough, she's covered. I've spent about 30min picking off and squishng fleas the best I can, but I need to do something better. We plan to treat the house just as soon as we get the chance to, and at that point we'll treat her yet again, but until then...

Would it be OK to get a flea shampoo for puppies and use it on her periodically *prolly only once, since we'll be getting the house done in the next few days, come hell or high water* until we feel that investing in a fea treatment will work? I CAN';T figure why it isn't other than the house is infested. All the cats seem fine, though... I don't get it.If spot-on flea treatment has quit after about a week, is flea shampoo OK to use?
i got rid of fleas on my pomeranian in one bath. i soaked him down with water (in the bathtub), then i poured apple cider vinegar on his back, legs, sides, everywhere %26amp; rubbed it into his hair real good. it has a very strong odor, but it never caused any problems with my dog. i rinsed him off, then shampooed him as normal. those fleas died instantly %26amp; for awhile, we did this every bath. we don't have to do it anymore. he's been flea-free ever since. (we bought the BIG plastic jug %26amp; it lasted for about 3 baths)If spot-on flea treatment has quit after about a week, is flea shampoo OK to use?
    1) the product is working despite the fact you are seeing fleas..the fleas are in the enviornment so therefore no matter waht product used you will still see fleas on your pet..you need to rid fleas from enviornment

    2) Flea products should NOT be applied until at least 24 - 48 hours after a dog/cat has had a bath. Application to close to bathing interfers with effectiveness.

    3) don't squish fleas as this simply releases the egg sacks (which you won't see) and also can spread disease. simply flea comb the pets and place any fleas %26amp; debris in a container of hot soapy water.

    4) vacumn your house daily, throw away the bag after EVERY vacumning in an outside trash container or if bagless empty canister out side in a trash container never in the house

    5) do not use bombs they are ineffective, they only go up in the air and down on surfaces where fleas aren't. Get a safe household flea spray from your vet, pay particular attention to baseboards, under furniture, couch %26amp; chair cushions, pet beds, etc.

    6) do NOT combine flea products it can cause serious toxic build up on your pet.
Just remember that what ever treament you use be it in a pill form or skin treatments, All gets absorbed in the blood stream then thought the liver and so on. Try to keep the treatments to a min if possable. It can take a tole on the animals system and kill them if the treatments are used to much, too often.

    Take care
What a frustrating situation! Please be careful with chemicals. Call your veterinarian's office and ask to speak with the doctor directly, I wouldn't take the advice of the receptionist or tech in this situation. Also, if your cats pick up fleas, do not use the dog treatment on them as it will make them sick or even kill them.
My vet has always had me use Frontline Plus and our dog has never had one flea! If you have the house debugged, are they going to come back in about 10 days to 2 weeks and debug it again? They have to stop the life cycle of the flea. The flea killer will kill the adult fleas in the house, but they have to kill the fleas that will come out of the eggs that are currently in your house. So make sure they are using something that will keep killing the fleas for several days.

  • What is the absolute best shampoo/conditioner/treatment for extremely damaged or dry hair?

My hair is naturally curly, but after a stylist bleached it to infinity (I know, I know...not what I wanted and I'll never go back, blah blah) it has lost most of the natural curls and it is extremely damaged and dry. It won't grow because it is so weak it just breaks off at a certain point. I know there is no way to completely fix it, but is there anything that can even just help improve its condition at all?

I used what I think was Pantene Time Renewal or something that seemed to work well, but my mom used it up and I haven't bought anymore. My new stylist told me Pantene makes some of the worst products you could use, but I don't know.

I'm willing to pay quite a bit if it will truly help, but I definitely appreciate more affordable answers, too. Thanks! What is the absolute best shampoo/conditioner/treatment for extremely damaged or dry hair?

{And no i don't want extensions}Is There Any Shampoos or Treatment that Can help my hair grow?
To discover how to grow long hair fast you also want to eat lots of green vegetables and lots of low fat protein-an amino acid supplement will do the trick to grow hair

Allow your hair to be all natural, let it flow and be healthy, that being said forget using tight braids and ponytails as they will tug at the hair and cause hair breakage

try to leave your hair down as much as you can to grow long hair

you should also stay away from irons and blow dryers as the heat damages hair

Take vitamins like biotin , B vitamins and hair and nails growth pills,

use a multi vitamin to grow long hair fast

Massage your scalp, as it stimulates blood flow and allows hair growth,

All the things you mentioned are rubbish. I have been taking Finasteride from my doctor (the only proven way to regrow/maintain hair). I use this with minoxidil and use nizoral shampoo every other day.

Ive been doing this for 1 year now and regrew a bit of hair and havent lost any. Have a look at this site, helped me out alot and gives proven methods by people who use these products themeslves.

Do some lice treatment shampoos cause hair loss?

I had lice before and after using the Lice Shampoo, my hair seems to be coming out a little more. But not a lot, just a few more hairs then usual when I brush my hair. But other then using the shampoo, I have no other symptoms of itchiness. Does the hair loss stop soon?Do some lice treatment shampoos cause hair loss?
Steer clear from the chemical shampoos, hair loss is a minor side effect compared to some of the others that can occur. No chemical head lice treatment is legally allowed to be labeled as 'safe' as every insecticide is a poison. Every pesticide preparation has the potential to do serious damage depending on the individual.

The ONLY safe way to get rid of head lice permanently is to use a totally natural alternative to the chemical preparations then use prevention methods such as hairspray and tea tree oil mixed with water in a spray bottle every day to ensure they never return.

Remedies containing Neem Oil are known to be highly effective as Neem interrupts the growth and reproduction of the head louse. Neem鈥檚 insecticidal properties are widely recognized now and the oil is commonly available at your local health food store.

Feel free to check out the articles at the following site for more advice.

Good luck.Do some lice treatment shampoos cause hair loss?
An allergic reaction to any constituent in shampoo or hair products can cause hair loss. Shampoos are designed to be as safe as possible, although there is always someone who will react to them. Caustic hair dyes, straighteners, and other products can certainly cause inflammation of the scalp and result in hair loss.
i had the same problem and it was 2 years ago.. but It still seems like its not stopping.. but It doesnt bother me.. So idk..
yea...my little sisters friend had lice nd the shampoo made alot of hair fall out she looks like a cancer patient

My 8 month old pug bites at his feet - the vet said skin allergies & no real treatment just a flea shampoo?

my 8 month old bites at his feet and scratches elsewhere occasionally. He had mange when he was a puppy but it was treated with dips. The vet said that he probably has skin allergies, but we don't know to what. He gave him a cortisone shot, and gave me a flea shampoo and an anit-inflammatory lotion. They don't seem to help - any suggestions out there? My 8 month old pug bites at his feet - the vet said skin allergies %26amp; no real treatment just a flea shampoo?
If he's scratching his ears and then eating at his paw, he probably has an ear infection. I have three pugs and this is very common with them. Try getting a shampoo that has vitamin E and has good moisture. It works for mine every time!My 8 month old pug bites at his feet - the vet said skin allergies %26amp; no real treatment just a flea shampoo?
I'm not sure what it is called, but there is a blue/purple ointment that stops a dog from masticating itself because of how bad it tastes. You can buy it at pet stores or feed stores. It helps with the healing process and is one of the only things I've found that will stop a dog from chewing on itself. Make sure it dries before the dog comes inside the house, though! The purple stuff stains when it's wet.
If he is having skin problems then I would try changing his food. I would suggest something that is high in omega 3. This is what I feed my dog and her coat is always shiny and healthy, her shedding decreased dramatically, and she no longer scratches herself contanstantly:

    http://timberwolforganics.com/
I've seen this answered before and the guy sure seemed to know what he was talking about. He said it has something to do with diet. I think he was from down under. Hey Aussie, I remember that you said that you were answering for the last time, the last time, but could you help out once more? thanks
my pug does the same thing. We were also told that he probably has allergies. We just use a special shampoo. His ears have also almost completely closed, so he is almost deaf.
I don't know what it could be but my moms dog does the same thing. He bites at the hair on his front paws, and it gets worse when he stresses out because he has actually bitten the hair off before. If what he suggested isn't working, call him back because there may be something else he can try. Good luck!

My Jack Russell dog seems to get dirty frequently. I heard that Royal Treatment dog shampoo can be used daily.

Does anyone know if Royal Treatment Dog Shampoo can be used frequently to bathe my puppy and not give him skin problems? My Jack Russell dog seems to get dirty frequently. I heard that Royal Treatment dog shampoo can be used daily.
A dog should never be bathed more then once every three to four weeks.

You can buy the little towlettes from your local petstore, and then just try to rub most of the dirt and stuff off.

But it is bad for the dogs skin to bathe frequently, ESPECIALLY daily. Shampoos remove the natural oils that the skin produces, ALL shampoos do. Without these oils, the skin drys out, as well as the hair.My Jack Russell dog seems to get dirty frequently. I heard that Royal Treatment dog shampoo can be used daily.
Get a good brush and use that to get the dirt off him.

There are special towels and wipes now too.

Bathing a dog more than twice a month will lead to skin problems.
My JRT is always dirty no matter how many times i brush him, he is a wire coat, I don't think its good to bath them too often. They are always digging or into something unsavoury lol.
I would not suggest bathing more than once a week, or your dog will get dry skin, and other skin problems.

Which is the best medicine (or) shampoo (or) treatment for dandruff ? thanks in advace..Which is the best medicine (or) shampoo (or) treatment for dandruff ? thanks in advace..?
well raghvendra, let me tell you.there are so many medicines, shampoos available in market but all of them are big scrap.even if you go for general shampoos like head and shoulders or clinic all clear.or you go for medicinal shampoos like selsun, nizral etc....yah these medicinal shampoos are bit more active and keeps dandruff away for more time but ultimately dandruff will come again after few days.

yah you can go for home remedies which r quiet useful and harmless....like massaging with mixture of oil(coconut or amla or mustard)and lemon ...keep it for few hours then wash your hair with curd or egg.this remedy not only will reduce dandruff but also make ur hairs shine..u can do it continously 2-3 times a week.

but again i will tell you, whatever you do you can not totally remove dandruff from your head except if you get bald....just kiddingWhich is the best medicine (or) shampoo (or) treatment for dandruff ? thanks in advace..?
Thanks for the info. This is the rare solution i ever get.I will try the above treatment. Report Abuse

    tea tree oil.
tea tree shampoo...worked a treat for me!!!
I have found that a product bought in salons in the range Wella SP called remove this is a shampoo it costs around %26amp;8.50 a bottle but as it is a salon product. As it is so concentrated then it will last you about 5 months. Don't use shop brought shampoo as they contain a product called lacquer that builds up on the scalp making the your scalp even worst or head and shoulders which actually burns the top layer of skin away and agrivates the next layer making it worst again.
Try Delorenzo '; Scalp cleanser'; and also use the toner.
Before going to bed cut a lemon in half then rub it all over the hair making sure the lemon juice is well into the scalp. Leave on over night. Then wash as normal. All you dandruff will be gone. This was advised to my husband and it really worked.
Kms but you get it from salon. Please dont use Head and Shoulders. You may as well scrub your scalp with a scourer. It is so strong you can actually perm with it. It will take flakes away but does not cure. You would have to use it every time you wash hair.Stay clear of it. You can buy a Tea Tree shampoo and they are good to. from chemist or store
Everyones hair/scalp are different, Haed ans shoulders worked for me cleared it up quickly.

I use Trevor Sorbee for straightnin my hair so I dont get dandruff any more but if it were to return I would go straight back to Head an Shoulders!

Panten used to do a good one but Im not sure if they do it any more!
    tea tree oil

baby shampoo had same problem brought it up with doctor told me to use baby shapoo for a while as other brands were to harsh for the hair so therefore leaving it greasyI am looking for shampoo or treatment for my hair. I have to wash it every 2nd day as its very greasy.plz help
stop using the chip fatI am looking for shampoo or treatment for my hair. I have to wash it every 2nd day as its very greasy.plz help
You can get shampoo for 'greasy' hair. Also washing your hair brush regularly help as the oils from your hair can stay on the brush. And try not to play with your hair alot cos the oils and dirt on your hands can make hair greasier. Try washing your hair in warm water instead of hot water too.
    try treseme for frequent use
i know a man who sometimes washes his hairwith dish washing liquid, he wears alot of gel and finds its a good way of removing the grease.
I too have always had greasy hair that looked lank if I didn't wash it every day. I would say use a good shampoo for greasy hair. The day after you wash it use a dry shampoo or lightly sprinkle talc onto your hair near the roots. Rub it well in to your hair with a towel, then brush it out. The only time I didn't have a problem was after getting a perm. So if you are bothered about washing so often why not try a perm. If its any consolation as I've got older my hair is less greasy.
Not being funny or anything but my hair also gets very greasy and I have to wash it practically every day. It's just the oils in your skin which makes it like that and therefore no amount of 'makes your hair not greasy shampoo' would work.

Why don't you try washing your hair with a gentle shampoo once a day? Again, not meaning to sound offensive, surely you are having a bath or shower every day anyway so why not just wash your hair every day, therefore it will stay clean.

I know you will think well hang on a minute it will wash all of the shine etc out of my hair but if you use a very gentle daily shampoo it leaves the shine in.

If you hair is extremely greasy even if you are washing ot every day (my husband's is like this even though his hair is very short) use T-Gel for greasy hair which is openly available throughout the UK.
Try washing it with Teatree Shampoo and Conditioner ,you get it from the Health Shop ,it has no perfume but leaves your hair feeling great. It is also good for the scalp !

    Good luck !!!
You might be washing your hair in water that is WAY too hot, as this doesnt help at all!

Aso, do not scrub as hard on your scalp, as this encourages the natural oils of the head to come out, causing MORE grease.

There was a person I knew, she used to wash her hair twice daily, coz she waid it kept on getting greasy, the more she washed it, the greasy it became!

Another thing that can be handy is to put talk powder on your roots, this helps absorb the grease, but obviously you do not want to walk about with lots of WHITE in your hair!

    hope this helps!
    Lee Stafford Dry Shampoo.

Spray it onto your roots and brush in well and it will rid you of greasiness. Hope it works for you, available at Boots.
Old home remedy that works--add a few tablespoons of cider vinegar to the last rinse when washing your hair--put it in a glass and fill the glass with water, put this on your hair and work in, then rinse as normal. Shiny, soft hair.
You might wanna try Nuetragena T-Gel for a little bit. Its designed for these types of hair types.

I know after awhile I have to use it. because the normal shampoo will make my hair greasy also.
I have always had greasy hair and it looks a mess if not washed daily. I tried every concoction over the years and the only one I find is by using a semi permanent dye or permanent dye close to you own colour, even streaks/highlights, I find then I don't need to wash it more than twice a week. Permanent dye usually lasts for six weeks before having to wash more often. Sorry I can't be of more help
Even though you don't have dandroff, try head and shoulders.
i use oatmeal%26amp;honey treatment shampoo you can get it from the hairdressers its made by tigi, really good
